Let me sum this up for you in short, non-complex sentences:

I might have a heart condition.

This morning when I was sitting in the library chilling out with my friends, I had a palpitation which lasted 10 seconds.

I sometimes get one-second missed breaths after martial arts, but never something like this.

Anyway, I went to the nurse, and got my temperature and blood pressure taken.

The nurse called my mom and sent me home.

I've just come back from my doctor's appointment.

I was told that I had a slight heart murmur.

I have to go for an appointment next week to have a blood test and electrodes placed on my body.

Which involves stripping in front of a female doctor (not as kinky as it sounds).

I've also been referred to a cardiologist so that I can have an echocardiogram (ultrasound scan of my heart).

I will have to have an ECG on for 24 hours to monitor my pulse.

Heart conditions have run in both my grandfathers (when they were older than me though) so I'm not as surprised as I should be.

It might be something minor but I have to get it checked out anyway.

I feel fine, just trying to keep my spirits up.

This isn't a journal created to gain sympathy; I'm just telling you all the truth.

In fact, I absolutely hate it when people feel sorry for me.

So don't.

Just mentally prepare yourself in case this isn't anything minor.

Edit: Appointment has been pulled forward to Thursday 25th June. I want the diagnosis (and the striptease) over and done with. Whoever is willing to knock me out before I have my blood test will get to have Thursday off school!

Edit 2: I survived the blood test without screaming or fainting or using martial arts on the doctor! My arm still hurts from it though. The results of the blood test and the ECG will be out next week. I'll update this as soon as I hear them.
